NFL:  Seahawks (+12.5) over Cowboys

The Cowboys are laying some heavy wood in this game and this is due in large part to their blowout win over the 49ers last week.   In that T.O. went off and he was really happy after the game like a kid getting candy.  Seattle won’t be as stupid as the 49ers and leave T.O. one-on-one.  They will do what they have to do in the secondary to limit T.O.’s opportunities and slow the passing game.  The Seahawks will get gradually better with Hasselback in the lineup so look for a good effort here.  I don’t think the Cowboys are 12.5 points better than the Seahawks.  Go with Seattle.

NFL:  Arizona (+3) over Philadelphia

The record for West Coast teams traveling to the East Coast time zone is not good.  However,  if a team is going to break that,  it would be the Cardinals playing against the downward spiraling Eagles.  Arizona took a home loss last week to the Giants and they are chomping at the bit to get back on the field and get a win.  They also want to breat this West Coast thing.  The good news for the Cardinals here is that they aren’t playing a 1 P.M. est game which has been the problem for a lot of these West Coast teams.  It’s an 8 P.M. start which is much better for the Cardinals.  Arizona is the better team with the better record getting points.  That screams value to me.  Take Arizona.

College Football:  Texas A&M (+35) over Texas

I am not from College Station and I am offended.  Despite the record of these two teams,  this is a rivalry game and Texas A&M will treat it as such.  Sure,  it’s been a tough season for them but they can make it all right with a win over Texas.  I don’t really see that in the cards for the Aggies but I also don’t see them losing by 5 touchdowns.  A&M ought to be fired up over the disrespect and I expect to see a good fight out of them.  Texas is a little more worried about what’s going to happen with their Big-12 Title Hopes than they are about Texas A&M.  This one will be closer than the spread indicates.  Take Texas A&M.
